Third-party notices
Tunnelry uses third-party components. This page lists them with their licenses. The lists of the packages that a release ships are generated from the actual dependencies, so they stay accurate. It is information, not legal advice.
Included in the repository
The user interface theme (design tokens, layout, components, the icon set and the Blade components under
resources/views/components/ui) is Tunnelry's own work and is covered by the project's own license. It is written
on top of Bootstrap (below). It uses the system font stack: no font files are bundled or loaded from the internet.
Application dependencies (Composer and npm)
| Component | License |
|---|---|
| Laravel framework, Fortify, Tinker, Pail, Pint, Sail | MIT |
| Livewire | MIT |
| Bootstrap, Popper (bundled in the compiled front end) | MIT |
| Sass, Vite | MIT |
| Larastan / PHPStan | MIT |
| PHPUnit | BSD-3-Clause |
The PHP packages that a release ships (no development packages) are inventoried in
docs/third-party/php-licenses.md, and the front-end packages that end up in the
compiled assets (Bootstrap and Popper), with their full license texts, in
docs/third-party/frontend-licenses.md. Both are generated by
scripts/license-report.sh, which fails when a package has no permissive license (MIT, BSD, Apache-2.0, ISC, OFL).
Two PHP packages (nette/schema, nette/utils) are offered under BSD-3-Clause or GPL-2.0/3.0; they are used under
BSD-3-Clause. The helper vpnctl has no dependencies beyond the Python standard library.
Run on the target server (separate programs, not linked into this project)
| Program | License | Note |
|---|---|---|
| OpenVPN | GPL-2.0 (with an OpenSSL exception) | executed as a separate process; its source is available from its own project |
| easy-rsa | GPL-2.0 | executed as a separate process |
| nftables | GPL-2.0 | |
| nginx | BSD-2-Clause | |
| PHP | PHP License 3.01 | |
| unbound | BSD-3-Clause | |
| SQLite | public domain | |
| MariaDB (optional) | GPL-2.0 |
The project does not link against these GPL programs; it invokes them as separate processes and generates their configuration files. This project's own code is licensed under the AGPL-3.0-or-later (see LICENSE).
Trademarks
OpenVPN is a registered trademark of OpenVPN Inc. Debian, Ubuntu, nginx, MariaDB and other product names mentioned in this repository are trademarks of their respective owners. They are used only to describe what the software works with. Tunnelry is not affiliated with any of them.
Front-end packages shipped in a release
Generated by scripts/license-report.sh. Do not edit by hand.
Only the packages below end up in the compiled assets (public/build). The build tools (Sass, Vite and their
dependencies) run on the developer's machine and are not part of a release. The theme, the icons and the Blade
components are Tunnelry's own work. No font files are bundled.
